Queen Elizabeth Park Community Cultural Centre: Placemaking

When the Queen Elizabeth Park High School in Oakville took on a transformative role as a Community Cultural Centre back in 2011, it was flooded with staff missioned to provide the neighbourhood with a dynamic space to facilitate recreational arts. As part of this make-over the building was in need of a new wayfinding solution to help deliver guests to reassigned rooms. This assignment was adopted by York Sheridan's Environmental Graphic Design students individually. For me, this process was centred upon placemaking.
